Is the 3rd Party healthcare company contracted by the city to care for members off IOD.
Care may also be provided at LA City Medical Services, next to Fire Station 4
First Care closest to 20’s is on 8th street in 11’s first in’s
Reliant - another first care provider
Cendgwick – used to be AIMS Acclimation Insurance Management Services -
3rd party that provides worker’s compensation administrative services, billing & payment to healthcare providers, claim adjustors, fraud investigators etc.

Sick Days

A

We accrue:
100% - 12 days per calendar year
75 % - 5 days
50 % - 5 days
Shall not exceed:
100% - 136 days
75% - 105 days
50% - 105 days
Cashing out – As of January 2021
100% of SK time will be paid out at a cash rate of 100% when exceeding 136 days

Hollidays

A

Members shall receive 14 days off (7 shifts) in lieu of conventional holidays off - 6 shifts (our holiday codes) for every other month and one shift for MLK and Juneteenth combined
Members are assigned a Holiday ‘code’ which is evenly spaced on a scheduled work days throughout the year
MLK and Juneteenth recently added holidays. Both count as 12hr days so together they add up to one shift. If you haven’t used it by the end of the year, commander will ask what you want to do with your MLK. You can either work it for time or money or combine it and take off
You may work your holiday and receive extra pay or take your holiday off
Any employees working the following specified holidays will receive an extra $7.50 extra for each hour worked:
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Year’s Eve

Vacation

A

Employees with:
10 years of service or less = 16 vacation ‘days’
10 – 20 years = 24 vacation ‘days’
30+ years = 25 vacation ‘days’
May be banked by deferring vacation and saving up to 3 years’ worth of vacation time corresponding with their years of service
Must take at least 3 shifts worth of actual time off per year ‘mandatory’ VC

Overtime

A

Hours of work:
Employee assigned to PLT Duty shall work (9) 24-hour shifts in each 27 day FLSA period
This adds up to 216 hours
Overtime:
Any time over 204 hours shall be considered overtime
“Time and a Half”
Pay timing
All the extra ‘half’ time pay comes at the end of the FLSA period (SOD Days),
Unless it was already compensated for such as with Assign Hires, Emergency Recalls, Court Time etc. in which it will come on the corresponding pay period
Banking
Members shall be allowed to bank up to 432 hours
At the end of the fiscal year, the Dept may cash out any banked overtime in excess of 216 hours
