A company with a market capitalization between $250M to $2B
Market Capitalization/Market Cap
The value of a publicly listed company.
Multiply the stock’s current price by the total number of outstanding shares.
Outstanding Shares
Company’s stock currently held by its shareholders
Shareholder
Person, company, or institution that owns at least one share of a company’s stock or a share of a mutual fund
Blue-chip companies
Well-known, well-established, well-capitalized companies.
“Blue chip” comes from poker where blue chips are the highest value pieces.
Ex// Microsoft, Apple, NVIDIA, Alphabet (Google), etc.
Well-capitalized
Company has enough money to operate without financial constraints
Defense stocks
Companies that produce weapons and armaments
Fare best during times of war. (Energy companies also do well during war.)
