Investigating Water Flashcards
1
Q
How would I investigate temperature change when ice melts?
A
Record the initial temperature of the ice then put the ice into a test tube in a beaker full of boiling water. Use a stop watch to time the process and use a thermometer to record the final temperature of the water.
2
Q
How would I investigate specific heat capacity of water?
A
Put a set amount of water in the beaker, set the voltage and insulate the beaker. Record the initial temperature, the power supply voltage and the current. Record the final temperature of water, then change the heating time, record time and the new temperature. Repeat this a number of times
