Q

What is meant by high ecological validity?

A

Ecological validity, in psychology, a measure of how test performance predicts behaviours in real-world settings.

Bringing VR experience in to the consultation room. For example, you would get higher validity by performing the experiment in a plane simulator that you would getting people to watch a movie of a crash and have them pretend they’re in the movie

Q

What is construct validity?

A

The degree to which a test measures what it claims to be measuring.

Construct validity is the extent to which the measure ‘behaves’ in a way consistent with theoretical hypotheses and represents how well scores on the instrument are indicative of the theoretical construct.

Q

What is the Wisconsin test?

A

Card sorting test to show executive functioning. 64 cards with different symbols. The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) is a neuropsychological test of “set-shifting”, i.e. the ability to display flexibility in the face of changing schedules of reinforcement.

A number of stimulus cards are presented to the participant. The participant is told to match the cards, but not how to match; however, they are told whether a particular match is right or wrong. The original WCST used paper cards and was carried out with the experimenter on one side of the desk facing the participant on the other.
