Q

Describe the role of the Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum in the cell.

A

Provides a large surface area for the synthesis of proteins, and a pathway for the transport of materials throughout the cell.

Q

Describe the role of Mitochondria within the Cell.

A

Mitochondria is often called the powerhouse of the cell and is the site at which aerobic respiration in the cell takes place. More mitochondria= more metabolically active cell.
