Q

What is the structure and function of compact(cortical) bone?

A

Compact cortical bone is hard and dense, providing strength support and protection. It is honeycomb in appearance and formed of many rings. At the centre of which lies the ha version canal.

Q

What is the structure and function of cancellous bone?

A

Spongy and honeycomb in appearance it gives strength and lightness. THIS BONE ISNT SOFT. It is found in the epiphysis of the bone.

Q

What is the structure of elastic cartilage

A

Strong and supple cartilage containin proteins elastin and collagen. Corresponds histologically to hyaline however it contains a dense network of branched elastin fibres.

Q

What is articular cartilage

A

Q

What are fibrous joints

A

Known as fixed and immovable joints (synathrodial) connected by dense tough connective tissues rich in collagen fibres.
