Introduction to Statistics Flashcards
Involves analyzing probabilities, assumptions and outcomes of the hypothesis
Inferential
Includes non-divisible figures and statistics you can count
Discrete Data
Classification of data
Ordinal, Nominal, Discrete, and Continuous Data
Are categorical data that can be ordered or ranked
Ordinal Data
Types of descriptive statistics
- Frequency Distribution
- Central Tendency
- Variability
Information about something that is described by numbers
Quantitative Data
It is used to gather, collect, analyze and interpret data
Statistics
To test the theories and concepts to confirm or disconfirm the theories. To identify the right methodology or tools to provide a general framework to discover new prospect to the research topic
Test Hypothesis in Statistics
A type of data that can be measured on an infinite scale
Continuous Data
Is less precise and complex level. This data can only be labeled. It does not have a ranked order, equal spacing between values, or true zero values
Nominal Data
It is widely applied in different fields for data representation and analysis
Descriptive
What are the two (2) major areas in statistics
Descriptive and Inferential
It is a systematic and Empirical investigation of social phenomenon and it attempts to explain and predict human behavior
Nature of Social Research
Information about something that can be sorted into different categories
Qualitative Data
What are the different types of data?
Qualitative and Quantitative Data
