Obedience is a form of social infulence in which a person accepts instruction or orders from an authority figure.

Causes of conformity?j
A
- Normative social influence-
Influence resulting from a persons desire to gain approval or avoid rejection. It’s respected because there may be severe consequence if not. - Informative social influence-
This group may provide valuable information, but many people may never listen to this. Developed by Baron in 1996. Made students do eye withness tasks. From the tasks this concluded that if the line up was easy conformity was low but if it was harder conformity was much higher.
3) mindless conformity-
This involves using others as a cue to behave without thinking or dealing with the dilemina of perception, thoughts and other perception s and thoughts.

What is compliance?
A
It differs hugely from obedience which is how your behaviour is intended to match that of the majority.
