what are some disadvantages and advantages of radiography?
its cheap and quick and easy but one 2D and gives off radiation
what are some advantages and disadvantages of CT scans?
its quick and many angles but it has poor tissue contrast and gives off a high dose of radiation.
disadvantages and advantages of MRI scan?
it gives good tissue detail and structure and FUNCTION of tissues but it is time consuming and expensive.
how can you tell if there is a fracture in the cervical spine, on a radiograph?
you draw lines of where the vertebrae should be, any bumps in the line will show a fracture.
what are you looking for in an MRI to see if there is anything wrong with the spinal cord?
white streaks in the spinal cord shows oedema.
see if the white cerebral spinal fluid is good.
what are the 5 spaces the neck?
visceral space (around the trachea) carotid space retropharyngeal space (between the visceral and perivertebral) posterior cervical space perivertebral space
what scan do you use to look at the lungs?
firstly plain film X-ray then CT for more detail if needed.
what scan is used to look at the heart?
MRI
what scan is used to look at the bones?
plain film x-ray then CT
