perception of dry/excess saliva
common on tongue
mucosa looks normal

A

temporomandibular disorder

pain as a result of TMJ and associated structures
- exclude dislocations/direct trauma

No specific cure, more management
meditation,
bite splints
exercise,
warm/cold therapy

short lasting
sometimes has a cause - tumour/MS/blood vessels pressing on the nerve in neurovascular bundle
