Clinical features of amniotic fluid embolism
Cardiac- acute hypotension, cardiac arrest, chest pain
Resp- acute SOB, hypoxia, respiratory distress
Neuro- headache, seizure, anxiety
Haem- DIC
Fetal- sudden distress
When to intervene during vaginal breech
If breech is not visible after 2 hours of pushing—> cs
Evidence of poor fetal condition
Delay of >5min between delivery of buttocks to head
Delay of >3 min between umbilicus to head
Define zygosity and chorionicity
Zygosity= number of fertilised eggs that the pregnancy develops from
Chorionicity= number of chorionic membranes surrounding the fetus and also corresponds to the number of placenta
Monozygotic twin splitting
Day 1-3 : DCDA (30%)
Day 4-7: MCDA (70%)
Day 8-12: MCMA (1%)
Day 13-15: conjoined
