Q

how do we prepare the tooth

A

with LA
CHECK VERTICAL- CANINE HEIGHT PRE REDUCTION
rubber dam
remove caries and reduce crown height by 1-1.5mm
medial and distal reduction
place the crown lingual to buccal - the gum will blanch when seated correctly
cement with GIC cement or polycarboxylate cement
check occlusion- OVD can adapt by 2mm but make sure the pt is warned that it’ll feel high

Q

how do we do strip crowns for the primary A/Bs

A
  1. Choose the size
    1. Hold by the collar
    2. Needs to match the incisal edge
    3. Choose shade of resin
    4. Cut the collar
    5. Make a tiny hole to let the pressure vent out
    6. All caries removed with a round slow speed round bur
    7. Mesial and distal slices are prepared
    8. Trim and trial fit the teeth
    9. If the caries is deep add a liner
    10. Etch for one minute- wash and air dry
    11. Apply bonding agent and cure
    12. Fill the crown form with composite 3/4 height
    13. Seat filled crowns on prepared teeth
    14. Remove XS
    15. Cure composite labially and palatially
    16. Strip off crown form with a probe
