Indicative signs
A
- Acute onset of rapidly progressing neurological signs
- Neurological signs + other system signs e.g. GI
- Multifocal neurological signs - e.g. seizures + CN deficits

Supportive care
A
Often get hyperthermic - active cooling may be needed Correct any hypoglycaemia Try to maintain systemic BP Monitor urine output Oxygenation

Methods to reduce toxin absorption
A
- induce emesis if <2hrs and no suspicion of corrosive material. (apomorphine dogs, xylazine cats)
- activated charcoal
- IV lipid solution - can potentially remove toxins
