In 1992, Emirates became the first airline setting their standards by installing an IFE System. The same year, Emirates also opened their new $2 Million Dollar Departure terminal and Placed an order for 7 Boeing 777 jets due the the rising demand for air travel.

As-per Emirates Fiscal Year report issued in the mid of May.
Emirates currently has an ACTIVE order of 65 Airbus A350-900, 35 Boeing 777-8’s, 170 Boeing 777-9’s, 20 Boeing 787-8’s, 15 Boeing 787-9’s and lastly 5 Boeing 777-Freighter Jets.
There have been adjustments done to The Boeing 777X and the Airbus A350 to cater for the airlines increasing POPULARITY and Demand.

ALSO Speaking about its deliveries

  • The Airbus’s are set to be delivered in September and operations to COMMENCE October.
  • The Boeing 777-9 are said to be delivered by the end of 2025 but currently are set back by ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS.
  • The Boeing 777-8’s by 2030 and Boeing 787 Variants and the 777 Freighters in the year 2025.

Al Maktoum Expansion Project

A reported from May 2024,
The Dubai Airport is falling short of Space for its increasing PASSENGER count per year.
Now, to care for Emirates and Fly Dubai’s EXPANDING fleet, a new airport is ESSENTIAL.

Hence The ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the nephew of the Chairman of Emirates Group, along with members of the Dubai Government set out a plan for the expansion of AL Maktoum Airport with a whopping investment of $35 Billion.

This includes 27 Million Square Miles, 5 Parallel Runways, 400 Gates and Capacity to accommodate 260 Million Passengers a year when both phases are complete.
All Emirates and Fly Dubai Operations are set to shift over by the end of 2030.
