Definition of responsive casualties
May be able to help themselves, e.g. weak/tired swimmer, swimmer with a minor injury
Definition of unresponsive casualties
Unable to help themselves, e.g. panicking swimmer, non swimmer, injured swimmer, unconscious casualty
Arm support tow
Grasp underside of casualties upper arm, position forearm across casualties back for support
Hip support tow
Put your arm under the casualties arm and grasp around the waist, support with your upper hip
Shoulder support tow
Grasp casualty around chest and place shoulder under their armpit
Examples of things in the EAP
Overcrowding, disorderly behaviour, lack of water clarity, fire and evacuation procedures, bomb threat, chemical spill, injury, discovery of casualty, water contamination
