What is the definition of interstitial ling disease?
A
Group of lung diseases affecting the interstitium

What are the common clinical features in interstitial lung disease?
A
Exertional dyspnea, persistent non-productive cough, fatigue

How is ILD diagnosed?
A
Different for different subtypes. In general:
- Auscultation (bibasilar crackles, rales)
- Pulmonary function test (restrictive lung disease profile, low DCLO)
- Chest X-ray (Ground glass opacities/ Honeycombing)
- Biopsy
- Serology (Screen for rheumatic/immunological diseases)

What are the treatments for ILD?
A
In general:
- Limit exposure to cause of ILD
- Antibiotics
- Corticosteroids
- Oxygen
- lung transplant
- Common drugs (Pirfenidone and nintedanib)
