They are focused on identifying restrictions and impairments of patients as far as ROM and strength and intervene to remove those or help the patient work around or with them. Also educate them.

What is the overall MOA of acupuncture?
Part of the response to the needle is an inflammatory response. The body thinks it has been injured and responds with a powerful healing response.
3 reasons why a DO would refer someone to an acupuncturist?
Feel like the patient needs more frequent treatments
Based on PE findings, you know there is a problem, but LAB findings don’t show anything and OMT is not long lasting.
If you know Chinese pulse diagnosis, You may refer for diseases beyond MSK in conjunction with what you are doing.
What type of patient is also good to send to a PT?
Not motivated to do their stretches or home exercise program, not really educated about exercises, not very active, almost need a personal trainer type of deal.
