• Article 1- Temporal and geographical restriction ois removed from original definition of refugee. No longer restricted to events that occurred before 1951.
• Article 2 - National authorities of states shall cooperate with UNHCR
• Article 3 - State parties shall inform the Secretary-General of the UN about the laws and regulations adopted to ensure the application of the protocol.
