What is the aim of this international law?

To expand the definition of refugee beyond what was originally established in the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees.

What are the main articles of this convention?
A
- Article 1- Temporal and geographical restriction ois removed from original definition of refugee. No longer restricted to events that occurred before 1951.
- Article 2 - National authorities of states shall cooperate with UNHCR
- Article 3 - State parties shall inform the Secretary-General of the UN about the laws and regulations adopted to ensure the application of the protocol.
