What is the definition of international aid?
Lending assistance to countries or communities who are in need is called aid. This aid can take the form of financial, goods, skills or knowledge. Typically aid is given by wealthier countries to poorer countries

The primary aim of this aid is to create long term sustainable economic growth

The primary aim of this type of aid is to provide emergency aid in times of danger or crisis

This is short term aid given to countries if he,o them cope with the effects of natural disasters or human events

Non government organisations such as Oxfam and Practical Action collect money for LEDCs. This aid is given independently from the government. These charities aim to help LEDCs to help themselves
What are some problems with aid?
It doesnโt always reach the needy, aid creates debt, problems with distribution of aid, it is sometimes unsuitable, it is tied, undermines local producers, aid creates dependence
What are some good things about aid?
It can save lives, can lead to improved health, agriculture is being changed, education is improved, increases awareness of the issue.
