Intergrated Modular Avionics Flashcards
Due to the new avionics concept, where are most of the conventional LRU functions performed?
In Avionics Applications
What does each CPIOM use?
new hardware and software technologies and hosts these independent applications in the same computing and memory resource
What does an IOM enable?
An Input/ Output module converts non-AFDX data that is from conventional LRUs into AFDX data used within the ACDN.
What units in IMA are LRMs?
IOMs and CPIOMs
How is communication between the LRMs performed?
They communicate through the ADCN via AFDX technology
How many types of CPIOMs exist?
7
Are CPIOMs interchangeable?
They are interchangeable but may require software reconfiguration
What does each CPIOM host?
An avionics application
What are the various components of a CPIOM?
Hardware Boards, Field loadable module software and a field loadable avionics database.
What does the hardware of a CPIOM consist of?
A power board, 2 I/O boards and 1 CPU board
What are the components of field loadable module software?
A CORE SOFTWARE that operates the module and its hosted applications and a CONFIGURATION TABLE SOFTWARE
What is the ATA software composed of?
One or more avionics applications and may include one or more database
Which board of the ADCN enables the AFDX interface with the ADCN?
The CPU or End System Board
How is a CPIOM connected to the aircraft systems?
Through 2 I/O boards that use analogue, ARINC, CAN or discrete signals.
What is the software of CPIOM-Bx?
Air Conditioning
