Q

Schmidt et al (2000)

A
  • investigated retroactive interference using the memory of childhood street names
  • PPTS were sent a questionnaire containing the map of the area around their old school without street names
  • the more times an individual moved home, the fewer streets they recalled
  • this suggests retro active interference as the process of remembering new streets interferes with the remembrance of old streets.
