what did Lemert (1972) do to illustrate primary and secondary deviance
studied a tribe in canada who had a stuttering problem. They placed great imprtance on ceremonial talking that failiure to speak well was humiliating.Children with the smallest speech problem became so worried about disappointing their parents became anxious which lead to chronic stuttering.
