What is intensive farming?
Farming that uses methods to get as much yield from a small space as possible
State an advantage and a disadvantage of the use of fertilisers
Advantage- Increase yield of the crop
Disadvantage- Can wash out of the soil and pollute water systems
State an advantage and a disadvantage of battery methods
Advantage- More animals can be kept in a small space
- Animals use less energy and therefore require less food
- Costs are reduced so meat can be sold cheaply
Disadvantage- Poor quality of life for the animals and cruel treatment
