What happens when the blood glucose level gets too low?
Pancreas produces glucagon which is transported in the blood. Glycogen is converted to glucose and stored in the liver. Blood glucose level then returns to normal

Pancreas produces insulin which is transported in the blood. Glucose is converted glycogen and stored in the liver. Blood glucose level then returns to normal
Name the two hormones that control blood glucose level

What happens in a person with diabetes?
Their pancreas produces little or no insulin
How do we test for diabetes?
Benedicts Test
Add equal amounts of Benedicts reagent and urine
Heat to atleast 80 degrees celsius
if glucose is present benedicts will change from
blue/green/amber/(brick)red
If no glucose is present benedicts stays blue
