Why do some ethnic groups score lower even if the IQ test was designed to be culture-fair?
- this is likely due to environmental factors such as being raised in poverty (poor nutrition, school and limited access)
What are the two views on IQ
1) IQ reflects a general capacity for reasoning across a variety of tasks
2) IQ reflects a set of individual/independent abilities and not a general trait
Factor analysis
- type of statistic that determines which IQ test questions are related. This is used to determine which view is correct
What was the purpose of the Twin studies
- to see if there is any correlation in IQ scored of Indetical twins compared to correlation in IQ scored of Fraternal twins
