Innominates Flashcards
What is the purpose of innominates?
low back pain functional probs/SD
influence lymph, gi and gu
What are the 3 bones important for treating the innominates?
5 joints?
Ilium, pubis, ischium
2 sacroiliac joints, 1 pubic symphysis, 2 hip joints
Major bony landmarks?
ant: iliac crest, ASIS, pubic tubercle/symphysis
post: PSIS, ischial tuberosity
These testing indicate:
lateralization test: + R side iliac crest: even ASIS: R inferior (to contralateral) PSIS: R superior ischial tuberosity: superior pubic tubercles: even medial malleoli: R inferior
R anterior rotated innominate
These testing indicate:
lateralization test: + R side iliac crest: even ASIS: R superior PSIS: R inferior ischial tuberosity: inferior pubic tubercles: even medial malleoli: R superior
rotates posterior
What is the motion of the innominate when you toe off (right)?
weight is loaded into r foot
trunk moves forward
r innominate rotates anteriorly
What is the motion of the innominate when you heel strike (right)?
r leg swings forward
r innominate rotates posteriorly
r heel strikes ground
These testing indicate:
lateralization test: + R side iliac crest: R superior ASIS: R superior PSIS: R superior pubic tubercles: R superior medial malleoli: R superior
right superior innominate shear
These testing indicate:
lateralization test: + R side iliac crest: R inferior ASIS: R inferior PSIS: R inferior pubic tubercles: R inferior medial malleoli: R inferior
right inferior innominate shear
Lateralization test: right +
ASIS: right medial
right innominate inflare
Lateralization test: left +
ASIS: more lateral
left innominate outflare
Step 1 of examining innominates?
What should you inspect?
palpate for tart
quad lumborum (sup shear)
erector spinae (sup shear)
sacroiliac join (sacral sd)
piriformis (sacral sd)
hamstring (post rot)
quadriceps (ant rot)
adductors (pubic shear)
Step 2 of examining innominates?
Lateralization test
ASIS compression or standing flexion
ASIS compression assesses?
posterior medial motion on sacroiliac joint
Hard end feel on the left = + on left
Standing flexion test assesses?
what size PSIS moves superior on dysfunctional side by the muscles (quad lumborum)
assesses stability of sacroiliac joint in flexion
high on right = + on right
