Subjective - History of the Injury
The history may be performed by asking specific questions pertaining to the Mechanism, Nature and Severity of the injury or by going through the PQRST evaluation format for the clinical evaluation or the SAMPLE format for the field examination
Objective - Observations
Observations should be conducted bilaterally and in three positions when possible
- Front
- Side
- Posteriorly
Observations can be broken down into Acute and Chronic observations
Observations can be conducted Statically and Dynamically
Objective - ROM
Range of motion include:
- Active ROM
- Passive ROM
- Resistive ROM
Tests reveals whether injured tissue is contractile or inert
