Characteristics of an acute injury?
Sudden, severe pain, swelling around joint, can’t bear weight, protruding bone/joint
Characteristics of a chronic injury?
Pain when competing or exercising, dull ache when you rest, swelling
Name the 6 types of fractures
Greenstick, buckle, comminuted, spiral, longitudinal, hairline
Define a strain
Strains-When muscle fibers stretch or tear
Define a sprain
Sprains-One or more ligaments are stretched, twisted or torn
