information you receive via sight, hearing or touch. You can also receive it from previous experiences.
Decision making
Information received is analysed and they choose the appropriate response
Short term memory
Where information is stored at first
Long term memory
When information is rehearsed/practised it gets stored here, otherwise it is lost.
Output
The decision is made and acted upon
Feedback
Information is received from the output or the outcome of your decision/action - was it good or bad?
Intrinsic feedback
information from within the performer, what did it feel like
Extrinsic feedback
Information from an outside source like a teacher, coach or judge
Single channel hypothesis
theory that the brain can only deal with one type of stimulus at a time
Multi channel hypothesis
theory that the brain can process different types of information at the same time
