Using facts / data to try and convince
Rational persuasion
Tap into values, emotions and beliefs to gain support for a request or course of action
Inspirational appeals
Influence agents asking others for help in directly influencing another person or group
Consultation
Making others feel good about themselves -flattery either before or during influence attempts
Ingratiation
Helping someone because you like them and they asked for your help.
Personal appeal
Give-and-take .. Someone does something for you so you do something for them
Exchange
A group working together towards a common goal to influence others
Coalition tactics
Exerting undue influence on someone to do what you want or something undesirable will occur (threats)
Pressure
When appeal is based on legitimate position or power - relies on compliance with rules, laws and regulation. Not intended to motivated but instead to align behind a direction.
