Saureus
If sexually active - Neisseria gonorrhoea
Distant bacterial infection => hematogenous spread
Acute, red, hot, single swollen joint
Fever, systemically unwell
Often knee
JOINT ASPIRATE CULTURE
Blood culture
Joint imaging
ABx for 4-6wks
IV fluclox, clindamycin if allergic (2wks)
PO (remainder)
Needle aspiration to decompress
Arthrosopic lavage if needed
