- Normal sperm production, mechanical blockage
- Normal testicular volume and secondary sexual characteristics
- The vas deferens may be absent
- Endocrine: normal LH, FSH and testosterone

- Sperm production deficient/absent
- Low testicular volume and reduced secondary sexual characteristics
- Endocrine: high LH, FSH ± low testosterone
