Indications for valve replacement

*strongest, others, relative

A
  1. Heart failure (highest indication)
  2. Complicated IE - heart block, anular or aortic abscess, penetrating lesions
  3. Highly resistant organism/fungal
  4. Persistent bacteremia or fever >7/7 after appropriate therapy
  5. Relapsing IE
  6. Recurrent emboli or persistent vegetation
  7. Vegetation >10mm
  8. Right sided IE with fevers/bacteremia >7/7 post appropriate treatment
