Disease spread from:

- enviroment
What Is meant by endogenous infection?
*‘normal flora’ gets into a sterile site
e.g. UTI due to e.coli (gut flora)
or endocarditis due to viridian’s streptococci (mouth flora)

HIV acquired in the last 6 months
Advanced HIV meaning
- low CD4 count
* open to opportunistic infection
What risk factors are there for infection?
- Recent contact with someone infected
- Recent hospitlisation
- Occupation e.g handling raw food

- Needles use/sharing
