- symptoms can reoccur over months or years

- sensitivity to light
- stiffness in neck
- convulsions
- a rash of red/purple spots that don’t disappear when pressed under the side of a glass.

Bacterial Meningitis
Get to medical help as soon as possible

- pain an cramping in calf
- swelling
- tenderness
- calf feels hot
- calf becomes hard

- DR ABC DE
- Slightly raise affected leg
- drink lots of water
- Do not allow casualty to walk as clot may travel to lungs
- Do not rub affected area
- inform captain and seek medical advice
Could be Deep Vein Thrombosis
-if difficulty breathing, or coughing up blood, or symptoms of shock then treat for shock.
