Peritonitis secondary to peritoneal dialysis

A

E: Infection following peritoneal dialysis.

A: Coagulase-negative Staph. i.e. Staph Epidermis. Staph aureus (gram positive cocci) also implicated.

C: Peritonism (distension, tenderness, swelling, N&V, pyrexia)

Ix: Ascitic tap.

Tx: Vancomycin & Gentamicin.
