Isolate, Zn-sulphate footbath, AB, vacc, Zn sulphate licks
Facial and foot abcesses
Facial- consume soil or thorny vegetation
- Abcesses lymph nodes, sticky smelly, eating painful production decreases
- Lance and drain, sodium iodine inj, 7-10d streptomycine
Foot- S.aureus! Bushes/rocks injure feet
- Swollen hot feet, yellow pus, crippled
- Tetracycline and Zn-sulphate solution, formalin footbath, drain if bad

Pm- Fluid around the heart, empty gas filled rumen
Rescue carb intake, small frequent meals, inoculate, dose “flowers of sulphur”, inj tetracycline, vacc 1-2m before parturition
Botulism
C.botulinum
Clostridium spores in soil are ingested, develop in dead animal, bact prod toxins and contam feed/water, sheep eat carcass bones
Lags behind flock, head hangs to one side, tail wiggles, drools as tongue becomes paralyzed, suffocate to death

Abcesses of udder = corynebacterium. Don’t graze or allow lamb to suckle, untreated - can lose whole udder
Vacc 4-5wks
Lumpy wool disease
D.congolensens - Spread by direct contact
Fungus like dermatitis, high rainfall areas especially. Bact thrive in damp wool, hardens, can fall off. Skin cracks and bleeds, wool hardens, fleece becomes matted
