Splenomegaly
Hepatomegaly
How can you differentiate glandular fever from tonsillitis?
Lymphadenopathy in anterior and posterior triangles
In tonsilitis, only upper anterior cervical chain enlarged
What happens if amoxicillin is given in infection mononucleosis?
Maculopapular pruritic rash
Also ampicillin
How is infection mononucleosis diagnosed?
Heterophile antibody test
monospot test
What is Mx of glandular fever?
Supportive:
Rest, fluids
Simple analgesia
Avoid contact sports to avoid splenic rupture
Resolves in 2-4 weeks
