What is the industrial revolution?
Originating in Britain between the late 1700’s and early 1900’s, it was characterised by the introduction of machines/inventions for laborious work and the widespread use of mineral resources.

It changed every aspect of life and business in Britain. Formerly rural areas quickly became urbanised hives of the industry.

Poor working conditions, long hours, low pay, dangerous jobs and mistreatment of children

Manufacturing (making things) and businesses (selling things)

Many machines set up large buildings where people went to work. A method of production that brought many workers and machines together.

People receive experience for future purposes and earn money.
