What were the swing riots?
Widespread uprising by agricultural workers who destroyed over 100 threshing machines
What was a threshing machine?
A machine which sowed seeds more quickly and efficiently than by hand
What is subsistence farming?
Farming for people’s own use, sometimes getting a small profit from surplus

The movement from rural areas to larger cities
