MOA of aspirin

Blocks cyclooxygenase 1 and 2
COG1/2 are responses for prostaglandin, prostacyclin and thromboxane synthesis
The blocking of thromboxane in platelets reduces their ability to aggregate which has led to the use of low dose aspirin in cardiovasc disease

Who should not receive aspirin
A
children under 16 due to the risk of reye’s syndrome
