Who are the Taino people?
The indigenous people that inhabited Caribbean islands when Columbus began to colonize their land.
What are Aztec chinampas?
An agricultural method to grow crops on floating islands found above water. Solved food crisis in the Aztec empire and fed millions.
Why did the indigenous people conduct human sacrifice?
They did this for their religion and to honor their gods.
What role did Hernan Cortes & Moctezuma play in the conquest of the Aztecs?
Moctezuma was the leader of the Aztecs before they were colonized and Hernan Cortes was the one who lead the conquest of the Aztec land.
Why did European nations seek a route to Asia?
They wanted spices and more goods. They also followed the three g’s: Gold, Glory, and God.
Who did Christopher Columbus encounter in the Caribbean and how did he treat them?
He met the Taino people and saw how they lived peacefully. He raped, slaughtered, and tortured the Taino’s and colonized their land.
