What are DMC’s and how many are there?
Display Management Computers. 3 in total.
Which DMC normally drives which display?
DMC1 drives CPT PFD and ND, and both ECAM displays. DMC2 drives F/O PFD and ND.
DMC3 is standby.
What are the inputs to the two FWC’s?
Flight Warning Computers receive inputs from either the two System Data Aquisition Concentrators (SDAC) or directly from the system sensors.
How can the ECAM SD be viewed if the lower ECAM DU fails?
By either using the ECAM/ND XFR switch to display the SD on either NDU or by pushing and holding the related system page pushbutton.
Can the ECAM/WD be viewed if both ECAM DU fails?
Yes, by using the ECAM/ND XFR switch to display the ECAM/WD on either NDU.
Will a failed ND automatically be transferred?
No. But can still be viewed by using the PFD/ND XFR pushbutton.
Can ECAM SD’s still be viewed if both ECAM DU’s fail?
Yes. By first using the ECAM/ND XFR switch to display the ECAM/WD on either NDU, then by pushing and holding the related system page pushbutton.
When is the DFDR activated?
- In flight
- On the ground after first engine start,
- For 5 minutes after the electrical network is energised,
When is the ECAM T/O memo displayed? Disappears?
2 minutes after the second engine start. Disappears when T/O power is set.
When is the ECAM LDG memo displayed? Disappears?
Below 2000’ with the gear down. Disappears after touchdown with groundspeed below 80kts.
What is the beginning and end of flight phase 1?
Electrical Power on - 1st Engine Started
What is the beginning and end of flight phase 2?
1st Engine Started - 1st Engine to T/O power
What is the beginning and end of flight phase 3?
1st Engine to T/O power - 80 kts
What is the beginning and end of flight phase 4?
80kts - Liftoff
What is the beginning and end of flight phase 5?
Liftoff - 1500’
What is the beginning and end of flight phase 6?
1500’ - 800’
