Incisiors Flashcards

1
Q

Upper right central incisor identification markers?

A

Crown almost same width as length
Mesiodistal incisal angle more rounded and other more sharp
Slightly convex
Concave lingual surface with right and left marginal ridges meeting at cervix = cervix cingulum (distally displaced on all incisal teeth)
Can have 3 cusplets/ mammelons before worn down
Greater curvature in medial cervical region
Almost same length of root as crown
(Labial convex shape most at cervix and least at incisal edge)
ROOT - rounded cone shaped
PULP - wide mesiodistally, narrow labioingually and roof has three pulp horns ( same for lateral )

Q

Upper right lateral incisor identification markers?

A

More slender less rectangular crown
Short distal side and longer medial side with larger curvature in cervix
Pronounced marginal ridges on each side and where meet at cervix they enclose a depression or fossa (prone to caries)
Longer root
Thicker from palatal to labial than central
Can have 3 mammelons/cusplets
ROOT - compressed mesiodistally and slightly grooved

Q

Lower right central incisor identification markers?

A

Flat and almost symmetrical
Distoincisal angle slightly more curved
Can have 3 cusplets/ mammelons
Cervical undulation greater in medial side
Slight marginal ridges and slight cingulum
More lingually inclined than lateral
Looking down over tooth, root looks like goes lingually inclined
Lower incisors = pulp chamber labiolingually flattened and root canal flattened mesiodistally

Q

Lower right lateral incisor identification markers?

A

Distoincisal angle more rounded
More fan shaped than central
Medial side slightly longer than distal
Leans lingually and more wedge shaped than cupped like central
Lingual surface v similar to central
View from incisal edge looking down on the tooth, crown looks slightly twisted and directly over root
Larger, more pronounced distal flare (medial side cervix larger undulation)
