What is the main focus across building the front line.
Delivering an additional 1800 police throughout NZ. With a majority deployed into districts, 200 others into specialised devisions, preventing harm from drugs, serious and gang related crime. BTFL’s is responsible for supporting these recruits with equipment, training, and other resources to maximise the opportunities provided by the entire workforce.

What must you do prior to using photos as a means of identification?
Obtain a FWS from victim/witness including a full description of the suspect as the recall.

- Conduct asap after alleged offence is reported.
- Suspect is compared 7 or more other people who are similar in appearance to the suspect.
- No indication to who the suspect is.
- The person making the ID is informed that the suspect is among the persons in this procedure.
- A written record that is sworn to be true and complete is given to the judge and defendant at the hearing

When serving a summons who is a family member?
Someone who lives at the address and appears over 18. Record the details and relationship of that person on the reverse of the summons.
What do you do if they refuse to take the summons?
By putting it down and bringing it to the notice of that person.
“Place” it at the feet and tell them the date and why they’re going to court.
How do you prepare a witness to give evidence on court?
- Issue a summons for that court date.
- Ensure they have transport.
- Advise them that victim’s advisers will be present at court.
- Allow them to read over their statement.
