What are the similarities and differences between the conquest of the Aztecs and the Inca?
Similarities:
In both occasions there were less spanish men than indigenous.
They both made alliances with enemies of the current ruler. Both took advantage of the indigenous ruler and took him hostage. Massacred the indigenous once they were in control.
The populations in both Inca and Aztec empire greatly decreased because of smallpox.
After defeating them they built cities on top of what the indigenous had built.
Differences:
Cortes burned the ships so his men would not turn back.
