Describe in detail luke’s account of the annunciation.
Luke focuses on angel Gabriel visiting Mary and telling her that she will give birth to a son, named Jesus, who will be the son of God. Jesus will be conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is important for humans to have free will so God gives Mary the option of whether to give birth to Jesus or not. Mary gives her consent - ‘let it be with me according to your word’.
What is angel Gabriel’s message from his account of the annunciation?
That through Jesus’ birth God is fulfilling his promise to the Jews.
Describe in detail Matthew’s account of the incarnation.
It focuses on Josephs’s part of the incarnation. It tells the story of how Joseph planned to break up with Mary because she was pregnant before they were married. But an angel visited Joseph in one of his dreams and told him it was right to marry Mary because her child was conceived by the holy spirit. The angel confirms that Jesus is being sent to Earth by God to save humanity from its sins.
