MILD
MOA:
* Simple extraction
* Routine endodontics (RTC)
* Scaling &root planning
* Frenectomy
* Gingivectomy
* Subgingival restorative procedures
RECOMENDATIONS:
* Ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hs for 1 day
* Ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hs as needed
* Acetaminophen 500mg every 6 hs **
Exceptions: pregnancy; asthma; heart disease; kidney disease; stomach disease; allergy; liver disease* (low-dose) ==== Acetaminophen
MODERATE
MOA:
* Surgical extraction
* Surgical endodontics (apicoectomy)
* Simple implant surgery
* Quadrant periodontal flap surgery with bony recontouring
RECOMENDATIONS:
* Ibuprofen 400mg + acetaminophen 500mg
every 6 hs for 1 day
* Ibuprofen 400mg acetaminophen 500mg
every 6 hs as needed
Exceptions: pregnancy; asthma; heart disease; kidney disease; stomach disease; allergy; liver disease* (low-dose) ==== Acetaminophen
SEVERE
- Complex implant surgery
- Complex periodontal surgery
- Partial or full impaction surgery (bony impacted third molar)
RECOMENDATIONS:
* Ibuprofen 600mg +acetaminophen 500mg
every 6 hs as needed
* Ibuprofen 600mg + acetaminophen 650mg +
hydrocodone 10mg every 6 hs for 1-2 days
