Desire for military strength, thirst for new markets, belief in cultural superiority
Why did some Americans oppose imperialism?
monetary costs, human costs (can lead to war)
What were the outcomes of the Spanish-American War?
Spain gave US Puerto Rico, Guam, and sold Philippines to US for $20 million. Spain also freed Cuba.
