-World Events: People who have access to technology are able to view news (easily, with smart phones and tablet device). People have continuous access to current news and would be able to make informed decisions.
-Education: Less opportunity to use technology for education value. Inability to ‘Google’ things (eg – how to grow fruit trees).
-Assistance: Technology makes life easier. Performing or download an app to achieve a task. Many applications help us in our every day life (web based apps) (phone apps)
-Jobs: Those who do not have the knowledge to use digital technologies will be less considered in the workplace. Harder to find a job.
-Communication: Isolation from others around the world. Without modern technology, it’s difficult to communicate with those from other countries.

A

Advantage:
-Wider reach / Global Market. –Able to sell and ship -worldwide.
-Don’t need a front-end store (save money on high rent).
-Shops open 24/7. Customers can access and purchase products any time. Increase sales.
-Customers can shop in the comfort of their living room. Saves time (travel) and money (petrol).
-A lot of information can be added to products. Multiple images, lengthy descriptions, price compare, reviews etc.

Disadvantages:
-A company could receive Bad feedback from customers, and this is public. eg – Facebook complaints.
-No face to face with company salesmen. This is less personal.
Items may not meet standard after only seeing them online. –You can’t physically touch the product before buying.
-Returns of items can be a hassle. Paying for postage and waiting for Reponses from company.
-Security risks – Using credit cards online. Information could be hacked.
-Scams – Can you trust the seller?
